Stocks to Watch Friday

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced a preliminary inquiry into the bankruptcy rumor-fueled drop in shares of UAL Corporation (NasdaqGS:UAUA - News) according to a report from MarketWatch. The Short Term PowerRating for UAUA is 5.

Yahoo (NasdaqGS:YHOO) rallied late in the day to finish down 15% after Microsoft withdrew its bid for the company. The Short Term PowerRating for YHOO is 5.

Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) announced first quarter profits of $10.9 billion but still fell short of analyst expectations causing a pull back in the stock.
General Motors (NYSE:GM) reported U.S. auto sales of -16.3% and truck sales of -26.5%.
Shares of Las Vegas Sands (NYSE:LVS) fell nearly 6% after the casino operator reproted disappointing earnings results.
After the close, competitor Wynn Resorts (NYSE:WYNN) missed estimates by $0.01.
Sun Microsystems (NasdaqGS:JAVA) reported revenue of $3.27 billion, a 0.5% decline from the year ago quarter.
Before the market open, Chevron (NYSE:CVX) is scheduled to report, with analysts looking for $2.41 per share.
And finally, Nortel (NYSE:NT) is expected to report a loss of -$0.14.
